Hi there, Graeme,
Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. I understand you have a Logitech MX Anywhere 2s mouse that is not working with your MacBook Pro, though it does work with your son's Mac mini. I'm happy to help!
I see that your Mac is currently running macOS 10.12.6 Sierra. According to the technical specifications on Logitech's website, the MX Anywhere 2s mouse requires macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later to function properly: Logitech MX Anywhere 2s Multi-Device Wireless Mouse Designed to Work Anywhere. This is likely why it works on your son's Mac Mini (which I see running macOS 10.14 High Sierra), but not your MacBook Pro.
